EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE 2014/2015

Chairperson: Thesele Mampane


Thesele is a final year Bcomm student majoring in Investment Management and Statistics. He hails from Polokwane, Limpopo, a place he celebrates for honing his entrepreneurial spirit.

He was first introduced to the Investment society by former chairperson, Sihle Siswana. Given Thesele's love for knowledge and self-improvement, it was only a matter of time  until the educational philosophy of the society heightened his interest and involvement in its activities. This paradigm is directly aligned with his love for development finance. Of particular interest to him is the role that still needs to be played by the growing middle class in the financial markets.

His appointment as chair of the society is a humbling experience for him. He hopes to exert a positive influence to the society through commitment and courageous leadership.

Vice Chairperson: Francois Roux

Francois is an honours student in the Department of Business Management, specialising in Financial Analysis. Having passed his CFA 1 Examination, he plans to obtain his CFA designation within the next few years and make a career in asset management industry.

After being a member of the society for a year, Francois decided to run for a place in the executive committee. Serving as Vice Chairperson, he helps Thesele in making decisions regarding the organization of the society. He also acts as Public Relations Coordinator  striving to maintain good relationships  with partners of the society.

Apart from his interests in investments, Francois enjoys music  and was a member of the University Choir(USK) for three years. During which time they won the Mixed Choir Category at the World Choir Games hosted in the USA in 2012.

Programme Manager: Beyers Louw


Beyers is a final year student studying BSC Agriculturala Economic Analysis.

He lived and grew up on a farm and is studying towards the field of resource economics because of his passion for the environment and the concept of sustainability.

He wants to specialize in environmental impact assessment and environmental policy. He has a passion for investments and finding companies with strong environmental ethics and sustainable business models to invest in Socially Responsible Investments.

Treasurer: Anelisiwe Miza


Anelisiwe is currently a final year BAcc Student and has completed a number of RPE exams with the South African Institute for Financial Markets. She currently holds a Certificate in Investment Analysis and Portfolio Management from Unisa.

She has served on various committees during her time at Stellenbosch University and has also worked with various ngos in both Fundraising and Project Management.

She is excited to be serving as the Society's treasurer and is specifically focused in empowering women in investments and hopes to see a positive change in the demographics in women in investments.


Marketing Manager: Brian Ondeng


Brian is currently in spirited pursuit of a degree in Investment Management and Statistics as well as the CFA Designation. Brian aspires to eventually work in the field of investment banking.

 He was born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya but has lived part of his life in Europe and sees himself as a global citizen. As the new Marketing Manager, he is fervently committed to promoting the organisation and creating greater awareness of its activities on campus.
